Under 90-talet bodde och arbetade jag några år i Brasilien. För mig var det en stor omställning att komma till detta färgstarka, sensuella jätteland och jag bosatte mig i Rio de Janeiro med skräckblandad förtjusning.

Det har tagit tid att smälta och bearbeta mina intryck från åren i Brasilien och för att verkligen kunna se de bilder som jag gjorde där. Mina fotografier är ett försök att berätta något om Brasilien och en spegling av ett inre tillstånd och en känsla som jag hoppas är av intress för andra.

Bilderna ingår i en längre serie som har visats som separatutställningar på Galleri Tegel, Sofiero Slott och Pfizer i Helsingborg under åren 2005-2008. I juni 2016 reste jag tillbaka till Rio de Janeiro för att fortsätta att fotografera där och fler resor är inplanerade.

During the 90’s I lived and worked a few years in Brazil. For me it was a major shift coming to this colorful, senusal big country where I lived in Rio de Janeiro with mixed feelings of terror and awe. The pictures from the exhibition are “new” to me although it has been a while since I took them. It has taken some time to let everything sink in from my experiences in Brazil and for me to really be able to see my pictures. They are an attempt to tell something about Brazil and convey a feeling and a sense of the state of the country which I hope might be of interest to other people too. In june 2016 i will go back to Rio to spend time doing more photography.
